Self-Care - Not just the latest buzz word.

The word “self-care” is used a lot in business, Lots of companies including The Craft and Tea Box use it and we’ve seen so many products and services promoting self-care.

Can The Craft and Tea Box make an impact on your wellbeing?

What Is Self-Care?

Self-care is defined as "the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own health."

While this may be a bit of a vague description, the truth is, self-care doesn’t look the same for everyone.

For outgoing people, filling up their self-care bucket may include being around other people in a social setting. Quieter people however, may prefer doing some yoga, or a movie night with a loved one. Some people are soothed by completing a craft, taking a bubble bath, having a spa day, while others want to go to a party, go travelling, drink a coffee, or listen to loud music and dance it out.

There is a never ending list of ways to practice self-care, and it all comes down to doing things that are right for you.

Crafting can provide many self care benefits. It can give you time alone with your thoughts. It can reset you mind. It has also been known to help with anxiety and depression. In the UK, crafting can actually be provided as a form of treatment for mental health related problems, such as addiction, anxiety or depression. Being a part of a craft club can give you a sense of purpose and belonging.
