5 WAYS YOU'RE PROBABLY MAKING TEA WRONG

1) Squeezing your teabag/leaves

Squeezing your tea bags is very similar to over steeping your tea. When you squeeze your tea leaves or tea bag, you release extra tannins which will cause a more bitter taste.

2) Drinking tea with a meal

I am guilty of enjoying a big cuppa with my breakfast but drinking with a meal actually inhibits your digestion. Opt for drinking your tea before or after a meal.

3) Reboiling the water in your kettle

Always refill your kettle with fresh water (ideally filtered water)

4) Pouring boiling water directly onto your teabag

This burns the tea. Pouring the boiling water scalds the tea and doesn't allow it to release the maximum flavour.

5) Storing your tea improperly

You can ruin a good cup of tea by storing your tea leaves incorrectly. Tea should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place. An airtight container is necessary to ensure that the leaves do not become contaminated.
